The incredible charity at the centre of our read-a-thon is The Story Factory, located in the heart of Sydney; the organisation works with young people from communities that are under-resourced.

Their storytelling workshops are crafted by creative writing and literacy specialists to help young people build writing skills, confidence and creative thinking, which are critical skills for shaping their future. The not-for-profit prioritises young people from Indigenous, culturally and linguistically diverse and lower socio-economic backgrounds. They run creative writing workshops all across Sydney, Western Sydney and NSW free of charge. Within each annual program, the Story Factory curates and publishes a selection of works written by its students, ranging from seven to seventeen years of age, from Western Sydney and beyond.
